Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip. OMG, where have you been my whole life?
This is SO delicious and simple to throw together. I think I am in love with a dip.
I’ve been seeing this all over the internet and it’s been calling to me ever since I set eyes on it. I just had to find the right opportunity to whip it up. Well, the temperature is beginning to rise so I found this dip more than appropriate to be shared on the eve of Summer.
When I think of Summer, I think of BBQ’s and outdoor parties, days where you don’t want to go near the oven or stovetop, and the overall desire to live with the freezer door open. THIS dip screams summer to me. It’s not a cool treat or one that is particularly light…. but it doesn’t require any heat to assemble! And it makes the most perfect little summer party appetizer. It can be set out and served along side some graham crackers, maybe next to some sliced fruit. If you want to make something different to impress your guests, this is it. Or maybe you just want to treat yourself.. because that’s reason enough right there : )
I will share with you one qualm I had with this dip. Deep down inside, I was really hoping this dip would epitomize the taste of chocolate chip cookie dough. But when I looked at the ingredients list I knew that it wouldn’t. It uses a whole block of cream cheese. Not as though you will ever hear me complain about cream cheese in any form… it just created a different texture and taste from that of actual cookie dough. It was still VERY delicious, just not the flavor and texture I was looking for. If you think you might feel this way too, I encourage you to try this recipe for eggless chocolate chip cookie dough and just thin it out to dip consistency with some milk, heavy cream, or half & half. You will definitely get what you are looking for with that recipe.
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup confectionary sugar
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
- Whisk the melted butter together with the brown sugar, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl; set aside.
- In a separate medium bowl, beat cream cheese until softened. Add the butter mixture and the confectionary sugar, beating until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Cool in refrigerator. Serve with graham crackers or other lightly sweetened cookie.
